Beach Balloons

Beach Balloons: Set a batch out on the sand (or lawn or anyplace else!). Beach Balloons - also called Petals - sway back and fourth in bright colors.

Here's what one of our customers wrote back:

Great attention getters!

  • They are great for field boundrys.
  • They are great on the beach to remind the kids where they should be after the waves and current try to carry them off.
  • They are great on the beach so the family reunion in the house next door don't set all their stuff up while we are in the house eating lunch.

Each piece is about five feet tall on a flexible rod. The balloons are 9 inches wide and 15 inches tall. You get a batch of ten balloons for $35. There are ten different colors in each bundle. Order several clusters or join together with firends who also have bundles and start a mass display.

Balloons were designed by JeanPaul Richon of France where they are called "Petals" or "Ovalescence"

Spikey Birds!!

Here is the coolest attention-getter on the beach!

Spikey Birds attach to your flying line. The wind fills them up and then the long legs dance across the sand.

Turn a herd loose on your kite field!

Spikey Bird

They have two bubble eyes and a dozen large spikes. Each foot is zippered so you can add a handful of sand to make them stand up straight.

There are two line connection points – one on the top of the head, and another at the front of the mouth. Each bird stands eight feet tall on a ball about three feet in diameter.

Buy one for $75 or three for $200. Available in your choice of colors.

Ladybugs!!

It's a Bug Invasion!! These irresistible ground bouncers inflate through side flaps and then quiver as the wind blows around them. Heavier bottom panels keep them from rolling over dead.

We have five sizes - so you can bug people as much as you want!
  • 2 foot - $24
  • 4 foot - $40
  • 6 foot - $75
  • 8 foot - $140
  • 10 foot - $240

Choose any colors you like and release a swarm onto your beach or lawn. Steady winds are needed to maintain shape, although the flaps self-seal to hold air in. The bugs are child-tolerant but are not designed to be kicked or jumped on.... Licensed & Protected Design by Geoff Campbell

    Giant Soccer Balls

These biG bouncers are 12 feet in diameter and designed for 'rough play". Of course, that doesn't mean you can hit them with a stick. But there are no extended edges, spikes or other extremities for kids to take hold of. So in a brisk breeze, Soccer Balls should be pretty child tolerant.

    Big Balls
    Big Balls

We're making Soccer Balls now in three sizes.

    • 18 inch - designed for display on banner poles - $15
    • 27 inch - a larger windsock or line decoration - $29
    • 12 foot - the big ground bouncer - $400

And of course, we can make them in any colors you like.

    Spikey Fish:

We call him Spikey Fish. He's 12 feet in diameter which is plenty big enough to draw attention. Based on an original design by Phil Womack of England.

Bounce him on the ground or use a lifter to get him up out of reach. We'll make any color combination you like for $499. Licensed & Protected Design.

    Spinning Baskets:

Big baskets are great fun! Anchor them for a bouncing display, or tie them low under a large lifter. You can even organize "Bol Races" by having contestants pull them upwind.

    Two Baskets

    We have three sizes available:

    • The 17 foot model is $450
    • The 10 foot model is $150
    • The 6 foot model is $90
    • The 3 foot model is $49

And remember, we can produce custom baskets in your favorite colors at no extra charge. Licensed & Protected by S. Oswald

    "Saw Tooth" Parachutes:

Attach them to a flying line or stake them on the ground with a ten foot tether. What you get is a great show!

Each Parachute is made in a distinctive "saw-tooth" pattern. The trailing edge is vented to reduce pull. So what you get is a big, colorful, rotating bol. And if you like, you can even choose the colors. Click here for a review.

Parachutes are priced at $450 each for seventeen foot, $150 for ten foot, or $90 for the six foot.

By-the-way, our Parachutes are *not* recommended for base jumping... Licensed & Protected Design by S. Oswald

    Striped Parachutes:

We also have Parachutes in a striped design. They are also $150 each. Or consider a double size Giant Parachute. It's nearly 20 feet in diameter and comes in a rainbow pattern with striped accents for $450.

We find that the Parachutes are excellent light-wind bouncers. This photo was taken in less than 2 m.p.h. of wind at sunset. Licensed & Protected Design by S. Oswald

    Star Baskets:

Designed by Jeremy Johannesen in New York, the five-pointed pentigram star really bursts out of this rotating bol. The size is a manageable 8 feet in diameter and the price just $125.

Choose the patriotic red/white/blue, or let your imagination run wild on the colors. Custom requests are available at no extra charge. Licensed & Protected Design by J Johannesen

    Star Basket

We've seen all kinds of tricks used to attach laundry to a flying line. Most involve knots which cause abrasion and weaken line strength. Our approach is a lot more simple.

We wrap small carabiners into the main flying line. Normally, three twists work just fine. When the line is slack, you can slide the "biner" anywhere you want. But when the kite goes up and tension builds on the line, the "biner" is locked in place.

It's quick, easy, and doesn't reduce line strength.

    Gomberg Crowns:

You have seen GKPI's exclusive "Flying Crowns" at festivals an on the covers of your kite magazines. They are fantastic!! And they're big too -- a full 8 meters tall. (That's more than 26 feet to those of you metrically challenged.) Click the photo for a different view.

Bols of this size usually cost around $1500. But now you can own one of these exclusive big pieces. And your cost is only $1100 for the 8 meter or $550 for the "half-size" 4.0.

High quality Presto swivels are included with each large piece.

Yes, color choices are available. We are stocking "warm", "cool", "rainbow", or you can order something special.

We are also making the new Spiral or Swirl Crown in custom colors. Click here fora closer view of the Swirl.

    Flying Crown
    Star Crown

In addition to the traditional Diamond and the Swirl, we have just released a new Crown design we call the Giant Star. Sizes are the same -- 26 and 13 feet. And of course, you can have any colors made that you like (or can convince your spouse to let you buy).

    Gomberg Bols:

What we have here is a straight-forward, traditional striped Bol. This is the same kind of piece made famous by Mischelle Gressier in France or Team No Limit from Germany.

Striped Bols are more then 25 feet tall. The are very similar in construction to our Crowns but with a different fabric pattern. The other big difference is that they are priced lower -- $950 each. Licensed & Protected Design by S. Oswald

Iris Spinner - not like the flower, but like the iris of your eye.

This is another big ground bouncer. It doesn't have the pull or power of a basket or parachute, but it still packs a colorful punch..

The Iris doesn't turn. This reduces pull and allows you to loft it with just about any kind of lifter. You can also display a set on the ground. Each piece measures ten feet in diameter and goes for just $150 Licensed & Protected Design by S. Oswald

    Spikey Bouncers:

If you have seen us at any events lately, you may have seen us flying these large spikey ground bouncers. They are weird, exotic, and very cool.

The basic design is a solid color with black spikes and a black and white striped opening. We'll make them in any color you like at no extra charge.

    Spikey Bouncers

    Spikey Bouncers

You can get your Spikey Bouncers in the giant, 15 foot size for $999 or the convenient 7.5 foot diameter for just $200. Like our other ground bouncers, they do not fly. Instead you anchor them on a ten foot a tether line and leave them down where people can get a good, close look.

And please note that our spikey ground bouncers are different from our Spikey Ball *tubes* which are smaller and designed to hang from a kite or line.

    Beach Balls

    Beach Balls

    Beach Balls:

Beach Balls are cool! The standard tri-color GKPI Beach Balls are two-and-a-half feet in diameter and priced at only $30. Buy five at the regular price, and we'll give you the sixth one free!

They inflate through vents rather than an up-wind opening. This means they stay inflated and can take a real beating from the kids. Anchor a set on the ground and watch them bounce. Or tie a few to your kite and listen to them "whomp" together.

Want something bigger? Larger balls use a *lot* more fabric, but we have the five foot model for $120 and the seven-and-a-half "big globe" for $249. All are available in the six primary colors. We can also do custom color combinations on request.

Beach balls are manufactured exclusively by GKPI. We received our prototype from one of the German kite clubs, but our research indicates that the original design was developed by Alain Robillard of Athis-Mons, France. Licensed & Protected Design by K. Shannon

All of this fabric needs a big bag.
But you don't want to spend a bunch of money on bags so check this out.

We've got top quality duffel bags, made of black Cordura with tough metal zippers (double opening), Velcro handle attachment, carrying strap and a waterproof lining. They measure 40 inches long and 18 inches wide. Stuff in a giant octopus or fill them with a festival full of foils and laundry. They are the biggest bags the airlines allow.

Your price?? Get this -- $25!

Spend your money on kites. Then stuff them in our bags...
